This spring, Make Up Forever has channeled the 1930s cinematic transition from black and white motion picture to color imagery in its new highly pigmented eye shadow palette, Technicolor ($45). Dany Sanz, creator and artistic director of the brand, says she has long been interested in saturated color and creating high pigmentation on images. So she created Technicolor using the same technique employed by filmmakers, over-saturating her shadow colors to make them appear more alive. Comprised of three bright, statement colors and five classic shades, the Technicolor Palette includes Apple Green, Turquoise, Lilac, Black, White, Espresso and Beige, as well as Yellow, which is described by the brand as spring’s “it shade.” Colors can be layered for high-pigment intensity. The customized plastic compact, which perfectly duplicates the carton’s graphics, includes a mirror and holds two round brushes.
